Hello,
I got a hardmodded xbox 360 second hand from a friend, it had lot's of burned games with it on Verbatim discs.
Now I tried burning a game aswell and did everything as said in the tutorials on this forum.
I extract the rars using WInrar and place the .dvd and .iso files in the same directory, than I 'scanned' the .iso with abgx360 and all was green, I checked all the needed options also as said on this forum.
Now, I used ImgBurn to burn the files on a Verbatim DL disc, I got a samsung dvd writer which supports DL burning, I changed the booktype and the code for burning DL' in the settings.
When I burned the dvd's at 2.4x speed and inserted them in my xbox 360 the only thing that came up was the Xbox 360 logo with a white background, when I pushed any button on my console it would give me the options like I was trying to play a movie (play, pause, ffw,...)
I already ruined 4 discs with this, does anyone know what I'm missing or doing wrong?
Thanks a lot in advance!!!
Trojan.

Are these +DL or -DL discs?
Also, I'm willing to bet that all those burned games you have are Wave 3 or earlier, meaning you'd need to flash new firmware (iXtreme LT) to the drive to play whatever you're trying to burn which is most likely a Wave 6 game.
Also, also, are you selecting the .dvd file to burn, and not the .iso file?
Also, also, also, what the hell is a "hardmodded" Xbox 360? Modchip? If so, get rid of it and flash.
Also, also, also, also, I'm done.

They are +DL
The other are games like Rainbow six vegas, bad company 2,...
Pretty recent games? I have no idea what Wave 3 or so means, can you explain?
Yes I'm selecting the .dvd file.
The dvd drive got replaced by a custom one, all I know about it, it got modded.

Rainbow 6 Vegas is Wave 1, Battlefield Bad Company 2 is Wave 6. Since you can play BBC2, your firmware is up to date.

It probably just got flashed.
Every time Microsoft comes out with a console update via Live, the also put that same update on the current games (for those who don't have Live). So every time they do that, the "structure" of the disc is changed, making it a new wave. There have have been 5 changes from the original structure, making this the 6th wave of games so far. When Kinnect launches, we're sure to hit Wave 7.

So any idea what my problem could be? And where do I check what wave my game is?
EDIT:
BBC2 is a retail game, made a mistake, following games are burned:
Street fighter IV
Prince of persia
Dirt
Need for speed undercover
Tony Hawk's Projects
NBA 2K9
Rainbow six vegas
Fallout 3 ---------> New game?
Grand theft auto IV--> New game?
Need for speed Prostreet
SaintsRow 2
All of these games work and came with the xbox, all of them are burned same way I do.
I tried burning Lips Number one hits for my girlfriend, region free game.
Also, the Xbox isn't connected with the internet so stealth isn't a problem.
Thank you so far ;)

I'm willing to bet that your firmware is NOT up to date. If BBC2 is retail, then of course it will work. Lips number one hits is a wave 4 game, therefore, since it won't boot it tells me that you have ix 1.6 or before. Your 360's dvd drive needs to be flashed to LT in order for it to boot anything wave 4 and above backups [ix 1.51 for hitachi drives]. Actually, if my memory serves me right, ix 1.61 will boot wave 4. If you can find somebody in your area that will flash your drive to LT cheap, then that's the route I would take if I were you.

Ok, good that I know where the problem lies.
Now, can you tell me where I can find what wave games are? Cause I got a lot of games ready to burn, but now I can figur out which ones will work.
Also, any idea what ix version my xbox is as it can run a burned fallout 3? That way I can find out which games I can burn already. And than search someone who can flash my drive again.
Thanks

I would say that your version of firmware is between 1.51 and 1.6. The best way to know for sure is to dump the current firmware on the drive. Make sure to save the key just in case something ever happens to the drive.
You can find out what wave games are by going to the abgx360 website under the verified tab.

Ok thank you!
And what about this:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/t.cfm/f-152/...rmwares-811141/
This could be my solution right?
I never connect the xbox 360 to the internet so I don't need to worry about a ban.
But, what does the ban do? Just in case I ever (accidently) connect it to the internet, does it mean I can never connect to live anymore, or does it mean I can never play any game anymore? Like I just can't use my console ever again?
Thanks

The best route is to have it re-flashed to iXtreme LT.
or do as Modking said which is to download and burn the Xbox 360 Ativate.iso
The activate iso will make the 360 bypass the security checks and boot the game regardless of wave #. You have to use it everytime you play a game.
