Just a quick question... Me and a buddy want to go splits on a jailbreaker, but I'm not sure about a couple things. Mainly, I want to know if it's a one-time thing used to install .pkg's. My understanding of it is that you pop it in, it allows you to install pkg's on another usb stick, and then you're done, unless you want to install more pkg's. Am I right?
Please enlighten me

Thanks!

No, you need to use the dongle every time you turn on your ps3. Sharing like this will only cause problems for both of you.

Like bigo93 this will cause problems because you will need it every time you want to use your ps3 to play backups. Even thought these install pkgs show up on a regular boot they won't be usable. Hopefully the mod scene will expand sooner or later and we will see custom firmware.

First time ylod? Try cleaning it our a bit, if you have an air duster for your pc then blast some air using the straw to blow some of the dust out. Also try a vacuum cleaner to help such out some dust as well.

If yours is a launch console then overheating is the most likely problem. If cleaning doesnt fix it then try the heat gun fix. If you try this fix buy some rubber/silicone pads and when you are reassembling the ps3 add the pads to the bottom of teh power supply unit and bluray drive. I did fix on a launch console and its been working fine so far. Still gets hot though but the launch ones do.
