I was wondering if there were any games out yet that require a 3.42 firmware upgrade?

TThe only game I really care about is nba2k11.. its scheduled to come out Oct.5th. I'm hoping they can't require a firmware upgrade since its zoo close to release date. Is think it'd delay the release.

As long as I can get that game, my current supply will keep me busy for a while.. lol

That does not require 3.41. That was a rumor that got started and I believe it was false.

Yeah I was going to reply to the thread to correct it but it dropped to the next page so I didn't bother.

Ok its now official, there is a game that requires firmware update 3.42. The new medal of honor prompts you at the beginning that it need update 3.42 to continue but you can easily bypass this by deleting the update folder.

Well you know what, I thought it sounded a little too good to be true myself, so I went back to check my source again and it turns out that this method actually is "NOT" working.
Source here
I think it is pretty messed up that Sony is forcing its users to update in order to play newer games. What do they expect users who don't even have or use an internet connection to do?? Go to bestbuy and pay them for the free update? Sony is really showing themselves as a company with some really bad integrity, coming from a person who was a die-hard ps3 fan.
