I have a wedding video on dvd and there is a menu with 3 different sections that you can view. I only want to backup one of them. what program do i use and how exactly do i go about doing it. I currently use DVD Shrink(in Full disc mode) and Nero.

If this is a wedding video there shouldn't be any encryption, so forget about shrink and go straight into Nero. You can use nerovision 2 and import only what you want and create your own menu, or you can use recode 2 and disable everything except what you want to keep. PS-if it is encrypted get dvd43(free) and then go into Nero.

Ok I got Nero Vision 2. Now what exactly do I do? I could not figure it out.

open nero, hit nerovision express 2, hit make dvd,hit dvd video, hit add your files, one at a time, it will take some time to do this. When done you can create chapters, by clicking on each file from top to bottom. you can auto-detect or set them yourself. I usually use auto with low sensitivity and if there's too many, take every other one out. Now it's time to create your menu. Here you'll have to play around. You can use what they give you or browse and put in your own custom stuff. You can do layouts, menu windows, backgrounds, just experiment. Don't worry about screwing up, cos when your done and you hit next there will be a simulated remote with which you can operate your "movie" til you get it the way you want it. you can always go back in nve2. hit next and hit burn to:, choose your writer then hit burn, stand back, do nothing and wait for nero to finish. Creating menus is always going to take longer, but it's a lot of fun. good luck.....

if you have nero 6 go to the nero homepage and download power packs 1 & 2. Download all updates for any programs in nero 6. Make sure you register recode, express, and nerovisionexpres seperately with your nero 6 purchase#. There will be a ? mark in the bottom left corner of all these programs, click it, then click on the enter registration # from the drop down menu. You will not realize the full potential of these programs until you do these 3 things, this will also give you the dvd plug-in you so desire. good luck []

Hi Bigorange,

Are you able to play your created dvd's with menu in dvd players. For some reason I can only play them on my PC.

I rip the vob's with dvd decryptor, used Nero to cut, and add motion background and menus. Again looks great, but only on my pc.

You're changing the equation with decrypter, I have only used it with Shrink. Get dvd43, if you don't want to pay for anydvd. It will auto de-encrypt and go straight into Nero. PS-ALL my dvd's play in standalone players.

The dvd's that I am ripping are from non encrypted dvd home videos.
