Hello
So this is what I did: I did the YLOD repair, got the PS3 to work again, but after like 2 minutes the fan got real loud and after switching the console off and on again I didn't get a picture, had to wait untill it was cooled down. So I thought that I maybe had too less heat paste and got some more, attached it and now my PS3 goes YLOD again, also I can't do the fan cleaning by pressing the eject button, could do that before the YLOD repair. I know the fan isn't defective, because when the PS3 is dismantled and then switched on the fan runs for about a second and then turns off and the console goes YLOD. Also I realised there is a yellow light under the fan that turns itself on for about a second when the fan works and switches itself off. I need help to fix this, so if anyone has some hints for me I will be really grateful.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

You cut some corner, forgot some step, or screwed something up during your YLOD repair. It sounds like you used too much thermal paste, and did not replace the thermal paste below the RSX cover. Then you put it all together and forgot to do the fan fix. You might as well just get a unit with a dead drive...this kind of thing is clearly beyond your current skill level.

I did replace the termal paste below the RSX cover, but you might be right about me screwing something up during the YLOD repair. Is 2 grams thermal paste too much?

I doubt I used 1/4 gram for the whole system...and I added heatsinks to all the memory chips! Good thermal paste should be spread so thin that you can actually read the letters on the top of the chip. It should be spread evenly, but not heavily.
