My 360 is starting to struggle reading games, (i just get eject tray or disc needs cleaning message), i take its on its way out so i guess i'm going to need a new one,

If i put my hard drive from my banned 360 and use the account in my new one will that one get banned or do we know now if the baning is from detecting hacked firmware?

Also whats new with the ixtreme LT? is this one undetectable at the moment????

i know posts like this just get overlooked but a reply would be much appreciated. thanks in advanced.

Hi, your xbox 360 will not get banned, only your profile is banned, you can recover it using live or there is a way you can hex edit the hard drive so that it will work on your unbanned console without connecting to live.

The new Litetouch firmware has entire banks of info that are untouched. This firmware appears as a stock firmware and currently you cannot get banned by using it. But no one can quaranty you will never get banned.

You only get banned because you are using hacked firmware.

apparently, M$ could detect older firmware versions ie. 1.61 and earlier. LT is supposed to be the "Safest" firmware, but nothing is 100% safe. We will find out in late Oct. - early Nov. whether or not the firmware is undetectable.

As far as you getting your new console banned by putting the old banned HDD in, I highly doubt it would get banned unless you're running modified firmware in the new console. I've said this before.... It's a cat and mouse game with M$. If you flash your drive and connect to live, there's always a chance that you'll get banned, eventually. Most of my gamer friends have a console strictly for playing backups offline(flashed), and a virgin 360 to play online(non-flashed).

To honestly answer your question about LT being undetectable at the moment, only M$ knows. I have a friend that's risking getting banned. He's running a hitachi with 1.51 on live, but he knows the risks and will take the consequences when they come. Even people running LT "might" be taking a risk. Nobody but M$ knows exactly how they're scanning for modified firmware. LT is supposed to be the closest to stock firmware that has ever been developed. There are minor differences, so it's only a matter of time before M$ catches on.

If you know how to dump your firmware from you drive, I would suggest to do so, so you can replace the drive if it ever completely dies on you. That would save you from having to buy a new 360.

As long as the drive is just spoofed and not hacked, you should be fine. I have replace a lot of 360 drives in the past couple of years, some I modded, some i didn't and pretty much everyone I have fix has been played continuously online without being banned.

PSP-modded, ps2 fat-modded w/fliptop and swap magic, PS3-YLoD, DS Lite w/ Acekard 2i, Xbox 360 - JTAGed with no dvd-rom

thank you for the replies guys its appreciated.

well i was going to create a new account just for live and keep my old account with my saves for playing games offline,

so accounts have nothing to do with a banning its down to signing on to live and it detecting "somethings up" with the firmware.

any idea whats wrong with my old 360 as well? it reads some games fine but games i play regularly i get a clean discs error or just open tray on the dashboard?
has it got something to do with a strain on the laser?

Some spoofed drives were marked as getting banned. You are better off buying a new laser than a drive. Cheaper too. If you have to do a POT cal, then the laser is getting weak to begin with. Lasers are like $10 on ebay and simple to install. Update to LT

WOW. This is a bunch off Bull. YOUR PROFILE DOES NOT GET BANNED, THEY BAN THE XBOX. If the profile was to get banned who cares. Noobs like you spread false information. Try again please with the correct information.

Just managed to update to LT (flashed to stock then to LT) which did nothing and i didnt think it would change the reading of the discs, did the pot tweak and it works better but still deosnt read every disc.
the lasers off ebay, what does it take to replace them?

I have been reading and seems it is the 360 thats banned because it detects the firmware and bans through the account which you take online. otherwise if you recoved an account on another 360 but didnt flash it then it would ban that one too and i belive there hasnt been any reports of that... or has there?
