do i need to flash my new dvd drive

hi new to flashing but my xbox 360 drive is not working i got a new drive im changing the drive motherboard don't know if that's the name but the piece from my old drive to my new drive do i need to flash it as well or is everything in the old motherboard of the old drive hope i make sense

Hi Santi.
If they are the same model of drive,and same revision eg hitachi 49s ,or samsung ms28s then you will be fine to swap the boards over without reflashing.
However if they are different drives they wont work, you will have to extract the key from your old drive and spoof the other new drive.

yes it will thank you i have the samsung ms28 hey mate ? the reason i'm changing it is beacuse i download madden11 and i think the game had a virus and kill my drive do u know if that is possible?

thats not possible, swap the boards and it will be fine.
alternatively try changing the laser.

he means the board inside the dvd drive - but only if they are identical drives. Although that might not fix your problem, what is the drive doing? does it say open tray while a disc is in there? dirty disc error? it could be a lot of things. your flash and board are probably fine - the issue is more likely sue to a bad lens or something.

thank you jarred but how do i fix the lens. it froze on me and when i turn it off and back on at first it didn't do anything just the 3 red light would come on but if i turn it on with no game the 360 logo will show up but stay their
