I was having this problem for the last little while and found out that unless the source disk is absolutely spotless and unmarked you could get bad data transfer that didn't show up with DVD Shrink. Shrink would do it's job but some data would get missed and when you did a burn you got a DVD that lockd up and stuttered and wouldn't play properly on a stand alone. I use a DVD cleaning cloth made by FELLOWS and it has decreased my burn problems by 90% and I haven't had a bad burn in over 200 backups. Also there is a cheap media called SmartMedia on the market and it has a white ans silver facing with the AZO dye and it burns like Verbatim but only costs 90 cents per disk.
