Sony Ericsson has confirmed this week that it has no plans for future Symbian-based smartphones, moving most support over to Android.
Says an SE rep: "We have no plans for the time being to develop any new products to the Symbian Foundation standard or operating system."

Just get with with the program, Android is now... Even WebOS have a shot, if they get anything out soon, not counting the established iOS, RIM, WinMob.
I see Android dominating soon but not for long, seems like Google has got kinda of greed, probably closing the OS soon and its main company (verizon) killing some main points of having a google phone... "google goodies"
I too see the future falling to android, but only for a short time. Google isn't just greedy, they are ADD. They develop a product to a beta level in a matter of weeks, make it public, and then start something else without even fixing the problems (not even the problems that steal money from people). Here we have about 10 different major corporations designing android-Pads...and google is telling them not to use Froyo, not to use 2.0.1, but to use 2.1! It is like they want the iPad to have no competition at all (other than root users that install Froyo themselves).
So, the question is obvious...If Android overtakes apple and goes down, who will overtake them...and will I be able to get one by the time my current phone contract runs out in 17 months?
