I was curious if anyone has actually got their ps3yes from lightake or other sellers yet? It says they are in stock. Also, how is the ps3yes working out for those of you who actually have it. I have not read much from users, only news and speculation.

Ordered mine on the 18th, dispatched on the 25th, waiting time fore delivery 3-20 days :(
Might be a long wait but at least ps3yes are updating their hex files in line with the scene's hexes. As far as I can see only ps3yes and ps3break are the only one to update their hex files. psjailbreak said they would release theirs back on teh 15th but i don think they did.
Since im waiting for mine cant give any more info. Though you can update the dongle with psgroove hex if you want, which disables the auto update so you have to short some pads to force it into upgrade mode. ps3yes are currently making a tutorial for those of us who want to use psgroove hex, which is nice of them.

Ok, thanks! So i guess its normal for mine to have not shipped after three days. Its going to be a long wait. :( Im ready to start experimenting. It seemed like a good choice to me, being that they are going to be back ordered on the teensy board for a while. Anyone else have any input on the ps3yes, anyone have one yet?

Got mine this morning, not bad, was expecting to have to wait another 2 weeks.
Also was a bit confusing getting it updated to the latest hex as noone tells you how to use FLIP. ANyway I found this site its in chinese but use google translate or even just scroll down and look at teh screens to use it.
There are a couple of issues. First of all you will need to install the drivers for the chip, I wasnt prompted to install any so had to do it manually via device manager. Just point it to the usb folder of where FLIP is installed and it should install.
Another note for windows 7 64bit users, the drivers included in FLIP arr not signed for 64bit systems, but if you read further down that page there is a link to the signed drivers, just copy them over to teh usb folder and replace the old ones.
There is a problem with the Hermes v2 hex so best to install the v1 hex for now.
So apart for this little trouble of having to install the drivers manually it's good, especially since they release new hexes very quickly compared to other cloners.

Thanks for all the detailed info!! I am running win 7 64bit, so that would have threw me off. So have you had any problem using it so far? Other than games already documented as not working yet.

Working pretty well, backed up all my games, though there are a couple that wont work.
Dont always trust the psjcl list as it's not fully checked. For example for Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm, one says it works with BMv1 but not v2. But then that's because you need a disc in the drive, any game disc will do. It then requires an install as well, but apart from that it loads up.
Also note some ppl say you have to move your games to another folder if you upgrade teh manager, I think this is onyl true if you go from the original BM to openmanager. I first had OM 1.13 on and now just installed 1.15, didnt move the game files just ran the 1.15 pkg, it asked if I wanted to use the oman45xxx folder, I said yes and it installed and games are still listed when I use OM.
So when it comes to backing up your games using psjcl.com if the person says it doesnt work with BMv2 then try yourself with OM with a disc in teh drive and see if it works. Of course there are still games that wont work at all.
And like I said in other threads, good to see ps3yes updating the hex when psgroove et al release a new one with new features. They have also released the source code requires for the auto upgrade feature for psgroove, so those who know what they are doing can download psgroove add this code then compile and flash on ps3yes dongle without having to worry about having to hard upgrade. MAybe someone can release a tutorial on how to add and compile the code seeing as $ony are trying to put and end to everything including sites which start with ps3, psp, and even ps! Something I think $ony shouldnt be allowed to be legally, but as we all know the governments and judges are all bribed by these corporations to do as they want them to!

http://psjailbreak2.com/ is not from the same people as psjailbreak.com their whois is different.
IMO this is just another clone, until they send sample out I would consider this to be exactly the same as all the other dongles, especially since they are trying to make it look like the other site.

I used the page bigo93 linked earlier, it gives step by step directions on flashing and how to install drivers if your on win 7 64bit. The ps3yes website gives links to all compatible downloads and instructions on the dongle. The linked page is in Chinese, but i simply used google chrome and a tab appears and you can translate the whole page easily. Thanks again bigo93, without that page, it would have taken me hours instead of about 8 min, everything is working great.

Also, the backup manager is placed on a regular flahdrive and installs in seconds after booting up ps3 with dongle. I would recommend using the latest versions listed on the ps3yes site.

I believe it is a ready to go plug and play, but the version is old, so you would probably want to update, if not now in the future. So yea, you could simply download the backup manager .pkg to a flash drive and be ready to go. I think, I updated as soon as mine arrived. Post back if you have any problems, just read Thier website and the linked page and you should have no trouble.

lol you beat me to it. If you translate the page at a9vg it'll tell you what you need to do to upgrade the dongle. the translation is not good for instance it calls a usb a dog or something.
if you cant understand it much then scroll down to the screenshots, they show you exactly what you need to do. If you are on a 32bit system then you dont need to download the 64bit drivers, just install flip and carry on as it says.
If you goto http://ps3yes.com/English/Download.aspx you can see how much teh scene has been updating the exploit and ps3yes have kept up with them
You want Hermes v4 (V4B already)at PS3YES! as the latest hex file to flash on the dongle.
for the backup manager you can use Gaia Mandager V1.01, but I hear open manager 2.1 is out and may be better. Its up to you which manager you use, they are all basically the same. The problem is none of them have decided to get together to make things easier for us users.
