I bought a used Xbox360 which has one extremely irritating problem: If left off for ~5 minutes or so, on the next use, it will get a flashing red light (bottom-right). It usually will boot the next time, but will have forgotten all settings (ie: I end up at the initial settings wizard: language, locate, etc)

Anyone know what the problem could be, and better yet a possible fix?

Sounds like an E79 error. Do you get prompted to enter your language and setup all the settings again? E79 is related to the nand. The nand is either corrupt or bad update. You're screwed in other words.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I do get prompted for language/setup. No on-screen error message. Forgot to mention one kind of important detail: It has freeboot 0.32. It doesn't happen every time, but it happens often enough to be incredibly annoying.

LOL, yeah that's pretty important. I had one do that. Probably a loose connection on the jtag. Check all the connections or pretty much just have to deal with it.

All other drives are considered to be detectable by Microsoft (YMMV). Make sure all rips are ABGX verified, contain SSv2, and patched AP2.5 (where needed). XGD3 must currently be burned on new drive with PC Burner Max firmware for 100% rip. All modded consoles can be potentially unsafe for use on XBOX live."
