ok, so I am attempting to read and flash my first 9x series liteon, I cut the traces and hooked the ck3 and probe II up and all is well, it sees the drive in JF but when I attempt to read and push the OP switch down the light stays green, it does not turn red. What am I doing wrong? Are the traces not cut right? I dont have a Multimeter to test. Also, what should the ohm setting be? Thanks

You NEED a multimeter bro. NEED. NEED. NEED. Your trace(s) is/are not cut properly.

Did you do the 2 or 3 cut procedure?
If you did the 3 cut procedure did you re-connect (bridge) the outer traces of top trace? If not, then that's your problem.

LOL. Yeah this is impossible without one. You cannot simply guess the cuts are good.

ok I have successfully dumped the drive and am now repairing traces. I havent flashed the drive yet, do I need the probe to flash it? The JF tutorial says to repair the traces and proceed to flash as normal. would "normal" be hooking the drive up with a sata cable and flash using the half eject method, or ia additional hardware needed?

Why a Sammy? Lite-Ons are awesome, the same as BenQs. You already had it dumped, so why not just go ahead flash it?
