Western Digital has upgraded its My Passport Essential portable hard drives, My Passport Essential SE portable hard drives and My Book Essential external hard drives with USB 3.0 connectivity. Internal 3Tb or STFU.

And don't go spouting that LBA bull either, I'm tired of hearing it. As long as the device isn't the boot drive and your OS supports over 2.1Tb LBA addressing it's a non-issue. The only reason these drives aren't out yet is so they can continue charging way too much for 2Tb and make loads of money around xmas and Q1 by releasing them then.

I am tired of them using that lame old LBA excuse...it does not apply to all mainboards, and these are storage drives anyway.

I am probably not going to buy any 3TB drives, and here is why:
They have held the 3TB drives back forever with this LBA BS...drives should be at 4TB or more right now if they had not held up their own line. Once the 2TB limit is breached, I think they will be releasing the next generation (4TB) very soon after.
