I have been trying to jtag a falcon I received. Db1f1 and all the although points were gone so I had to try and connect through the trace. Since i am still getting e79 I am assuming that I am not getting a good connection. I can't find any good pics or tuts on how this is done. Anyone knows of any, please respond. Thanks

scrape the trace (not the area around it) and use some soldering paste (flux) available at radio shack. Apply some paste to the trace, heat the trace and try to put some solder down...it's hard to get it to stick to the trace but the flux helps a lot and eventually you'll get a small amount on it. Then tin your lead with some solder and you should be able to get the two to solder together pretty easily

Indeed. Flux is your best friend. If you were trying to get the DB1F1 point, I'd recommend 30 AWG Kynar wire, but wouldn't hurt to use it either since you are trying to solder to a trace.

I don't have any Kumar wire. I took 3 strands of wire twisted them together. Gonna try to get a connection that way. You think that will work? Any other hiccups that I should look out for with falcons?

Post back if you cannot get that trace to work. I ended up soldering mine on the bottom of the board.

The King is speaking of this alternate point on the Falcon (supposedly doesn't work for Jaspers).
