Are you using uLoader? This might be the cause of the problem, but the more likely problem is that your optical drive is slowly wearing out, it may need cleaning or replacing, but I think it's mainly because of uLoader. The entire error can be bypassed if you resort to loading your games via a USB Hard Drive. There are plenty of guides on the net on how to do this.

hi I got the harddrive to turn on and work. The game is downloaded through pal. I tried to play the game through uloader, usbloader gx, configurable usb loader, and gecko. All except gecko get to a black screen that says licensed by nintendo. Gecko doesnt even turn it on. So if you can help thanks.
When did the original problem start happening? If it only started to happen after the update, then we can assume that it wasn't your wii's optical laser causing the problem. If you have been on 4.2 for a long time & it only just started happening now, it's a sign that your optical laser is starting to wear down.
Here are some things you could try:
1) When you run a game from your USB Loader, have a disc in the disc drive, doesn't matter which disc it is.
2) Re-install your system menu & softmod again properly using the WiiHacks guide.
3) Purchase a Wii Optical Lens Cleaner & Try it to see if it makes a difference.
4) Replace your optical drive.
I would recommend option two as your first option, & option four as your last resort. I can provide the instructions & files needed to proceed with option 2, but you must let me know if you want to do that.

ok found the problem
turned out that the game I was trying (RED STEEL) is a game that doesnt work. I tried wii sports resort and it works perfectly. Ok thanks for everything. Just a quick question since I have 4.2u (USA) brand, does that mean that only NTSC games would work, or should all be able to work such as PAL and so forth? Thanks again
If you're just using a modchip then you will only be able to play NTSC Games, but if you have the correct softmods installed then all region gaming is possible.
You mean if you just have the software mods? I said that already, as long as you have the correct setup of your cIOS, you can play games from anywhere using software mods.
