3.50 update troubles

I carry out a very reasonable ylod repair service to all the unfortunate souls who have the misfortune of owning 1st gen phat models like myself.

However, I have had a couple of customers give me a call in the last week complainig that their repaired consoles are freezing and not reading discs, after some significant time after I had returned them.

This is odd as I fully check their systems before handing them back and they were all in working order, so I was rather perplexed at these calls.

I have read a few forums and other 40,60 + 80 phat console owners are having the same issues.

Is it possible that Sony's recent update/system destroyer is actually causing these faults.

Any info would be appreciated as I really don't believe it has been my repair process.
