I am new to PS3, I am waiting for my PS3Key to arrive.
Which is the best backup manager to use ?

Open manager is the best right now but they have about 3 different version out that I know of:-
1. Flex manager (pretty awesome UI) Link
2. Jurai2 Open Manager Link
3. Plain Open manager Link

thats nice, but most of us dont want to join another forum just to download some files.
maybe next time post a direct link to the downloads.

Thing is that the scene is updating almost daily! Whatever answer any of us write down today will have been changed tomorrow!
For example I this afternoon I updated to Open Manager 1.16, but then 10 minutes later I read about Flex Manager 1.01. FM is the same as OM 1.16 but with a more appealing user interface (how your games are listed on screen)
So my answer to this for today is Flex Manager 1.01 download from http://www.ps3-hacks.com/file/159 click the red Download at the bottom left of page. Remember if you want images like given in the screenshot of the front covers, you have to download the covers as PNG files, then also use an ftp program to transfer them onto your PS3 hdd
But like I said, tomorrow we may be saying OM 1.17 or FM 1.1 etc

sorry to say the Jurai2 Open Manager link is to the article, you still need membership to get download link.
but the other two are working I think. Ive been messing with the Flexmanager, and ftp, nice but they dont take into account people with SDTV the screen isnt properly sized for it, must be for HDTV only. I can still use this but the controls are off screen.
Ive been searchihng and getting better covers than the ones on his site, most of those are dark. and I wish they would fix the title of the game, shouldnt be in yellow cant see it. Open mgr 1.16.1 is still the best for screen size and clarity of text.
Other than that it looks great!

I read how to change back ground so the yellow wont be so annoying
I also have brushed steel, but the yellow still fades out on it.
the black makes it easier on the eyes.
as you can see it is not properly sized for a SDTV 4:3
this is how to change:
background can be changed to any of your choosing by replacing BG.PNG in folder:
/dev_hdd0/game/OMAN46756/USRDIR

Try resizing the image to 720x540, see if that helps for sdtv resolution.

nope it shrunk it too small and placed it in the corner, I will have to adjust size slowly. also doubt the icons will be centered afterwards. there has to be a file giving the proper size in the program.
but the developers speak spanish and the translations suck, so best to wait till more info becomes avail.
most of these kids today all own a HDTV must be nice.

I tried several diff sizes and each time the screen wouldnt shrink right.
so I gave up, I know the controls, dont really need to see it. but this is a beta
and the disc in tray doesnt show the cover icon. and the default is bland grey,
so I made it a red bk with a yellow question mark. looks good.
Im sure once they get it fixed and up to par it will be great.
I did change the main xmb bkgrd pic1.png screen and made it blue. I left the icon alone.
doing alot right now with backing up my DATA folders thru ftp.
espec the DLC for Batman map packs. so Im having fun.
I look fwd to seeing all the new Themes created for the OM to come.
