'Angry Birds' developer angered by Microsoft ad

article published on 10 October, 2010

Rovio, the developer behind the blockbuster mobile app Angry Birds has voiced its displeasure at Microsoft this weekend, after it was discovered that the company was already advertising a version of the game for their upcoming Windows Phone 7 platform. "We could do a WP7 version of Angry Birds, not the issue. We have not agreed to do that (yet). Will support all relevant platforms." ... (unsaid) "When Windows phone 7 becomes relevant we will support it"

Well as the Angry Admin of Angrybirds Walkthrough(Fan based web site, Not connected at all with Click gamer or Rovio.) This was a bit of a shock for me to see Rovio in the news here but with Angrybirds being the Most popular game on the iPhone i am not surprised MS trying to Force the conversion.

I say If Rovio and Click Gamer want to keep to the iPhone, what is going to stop them. A great game has been developed and the world just went nuts over it so why break something that works.

Things may change in the future (or yet to be) but the Angry Fans will be right behind Angrybirds the entire Way :)

Btw loving the Latest Upgrade for Angrybirds keep it up, haha :P

The problem is that Microsoft is using Angry Birds for advertising...I doubt Microsoft would like it if Angry Birds advertised that their app allowed you to run windows on your iPhone.

What sucks is there's no picture of it, and I'm on MS's site and can't find an icon of Angry Birds.

So this is news because someone tweeted it? No one bothered to verify it? Seriously?

This would be good for slashdot, but without a source, other then tweeter posts, fails.

It looks like Rovio and Microsoft found some common ground and delivered AB on Windows 7 in the beginning of this year. Still, this was not very good move from Microsoft. On the other hand they have probably million of other collaborations which they are advertising so this one has slipped through. I understand how Rovio can be angry (pun intended) about this but its that big deal.
