Removing Resin off a drive board with paint thinner

So I was searching around on how to remove the resin from the 360 drive board, since I want to install a chip onto it. The official guide says I can use paint thinner (Diochloromethane) which would dissolve the resin. But, the guide seems to be directly translated from Italian or something so I can't really understand everything it says. Apparently you can get paint thinner in gel form, which I have never heard of or seen. Has anyone ever tried doing this, and was it successful? I'm still kind of cautious about pouring a liquid (especially a solvent) onto my flash memory.

I've also heard of one other method, which is using a heat gun. However I can't find a proper guide on how to do this, most just say "Use a heat gun" and others had videos which were removed.

What is recommended?

You lost me dude. What chip? If you want a chip to play backups, you're way behind. You need to flash the drive with Modded firmware.
