Redbox claims to have already rented over 1 billion DVDs at $1 each - a price that has sent shivers throughout the films industry with many believing it undervalues a DVD.

Redbox doesn't undervalue a DVD. Their rate of $1.00 per day is simply a prorated version of the video rental age when it cost $5.00 for five days.

Well ye, we know that, but to Hollywood $5 is better than $1. Also, $1 rentals, they believe, harm sales of new DVDs, hence the 28-day waiting periods etc. that they try to enforce.

It probably does hurt the sales of new DVDs.

However, it could almost been seen as theft to sell a DVD that is intended to only be watched once. If they made good movies, then people would buy them to watch again...as long as they are making these terrible flics, they should be happy just to be selling to redbox.

1 day is too short to play you need longer then that
