Is it possible to rename the game folder to something more readable without any problem...

To be more specific. I transfer games from external to ps3 internal using comgenie filemanager. The folder name is something like BLE12345. Can I rename it to sth readable, such us the title of the game (eg Little_Big_Planet). It will be kind of problem if you decide to empty your internal hdd and you have about 20 games with strange folder names. It will be difficult to find the game you would like to remove.

Any suggestions?

I have not seen anything that can change these names and still work with the latest backup managers. I would just leave is as is...I have started a small text file to keep track of what weird code is what game; it helps a lot.

I experimented myself....

I ripped WET to my external drive.

Then I renamed it from BLE... to WET and transfered it to ps3 internal with comgenie filemanager. The game loaded perfectly (no disc in drive as well... I just run it through /app_home/PS3_GAME)

If you want to give it a try just write down the original folder name... in case it is necessary to rename it back to the original one... better safe than sorry...

It seems that we are able to rename folders. So managing games installed in internal ps3 hdd is very easy.

I tried this and I saw it confirmed by numerous users that it doesn't do anything to the game your playing, so I assume that its safe. I rather the name myself as-well instead of that code.
