Hello All,
This is for my son for whom I got a premodded xbox 360 (PAL). The console plays the copies I got from the store. Some of the copies are on MELODY media, which is basically supposed to be of inferior quality.
I have googled all over on how to burn xbox 360 backups. I have done everything using imgburn, and got successful burns. Initially I used Imation DVD+R DL (DISC ID: RITEK). The two times I tried, I got no errors, but both times, the game did not play beyond the intro video.
Basically I want you to know that I have done the layerbreak, set the booktype, burnt at 2.4x???
Then I bought a couple of TDKs (made in india) but still no luck.
I searched for VERBATIM but the only ones I could find were made in India (which i felt would be the same as TDK basically) so i did not buy those.
I have a LITE-ON SOHW 1673s which i have flashed to 1693s, after going through a lot of forums.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for your prompt reply coorva.
I have a liteon sohw 1673s which for which I have upgraded the firmware so that it shows me that i have a liteon sohw 1693s.
The media I was using was 8x and I tried to set the write speed on imgburn to 4x (for both the media as well as the drive), but when it starts writing, it gives a write speed mismatch error and then it defaults to 2.4x??
I am pretty certain the drive should support writing at 4x for dvd+r DL?
Thanks in advance...

Yes, I am using XP SP3.
The problem seems to be the 'write speed mismatch'.. dunno why imgburn is unable to write at 4x?
Here is the imgburn log from one of my 'successful' writing attempts:
