NPD has released their latest U.S. video game industry sales report, for September, which shows a continued decline in overall sales.
However, the group did not give individual sales for Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft, instead preferring to report only that overall hardware sales had fallen a hefty 20 percent to $383 million.

Looks like game sales will be dismal after the holidays...leading to more of the things that are preventing people from buying games already, leading to lower sales. Something tells me that this industry is getting ready to crash and burn. Fear not...from the ashes will rise good games.
Considering the prices is it any wonder & don't get me bloody started on the graphics & general game play of 95% of games just utter crap,it's hilarious when you have older games from the PS2 & original xbox that look & play just like some of these so called next gen games,makes me wanna cry,good thing i hire all my games first,a crying shame sniperghost warrior turned out to be yet another dud,sniper elite pisses on it,bloody unbelievable
Well obviously microsoft had must sales this time because of the bans causes people to buy new systems and the fact that them recently released a slimed version along with halo reach. I still think that games these days just aren't satisfying enough. You buy it, play it and your disappointed about the lack of effort into the gameplay and some much work on a 5 hour storyline, cutscenes and backgrounds, also to take into account nothing to do when you finish the story of an adventure game. Hopefull these developers well open their eyes because people are buying these games ad returning them the next day.
I personally have a list of companies that I will only pirate games from, and not buy them, until they remove the invasive anti-piracy that the legit software comes riddled with. Ubisoft is at the top of that list...
So until they sack that, I'll be contributing the that decline.
the issue is lack of innovation, the game industry is the only industry where you can patient pieces of art in stead of the whole picture. if the game industry could learn to share its technology you could make a game that would be awe inspiring. as it stands now that is impossible.

Yeah, but until then, we have still some crappy games to deal with. Gone are the days when actually saw quality games of the 80's and 90's, cause their focus seems to be to competing with other companies. Don't get me wrong, we need competition, but not when it takes the focus off of the consumer, and sadly we are seeing this. Killer, good games ALWAYS comes to those who wait.
