I dont have a desktop, just laptop (Dell Inspiron 1521) so I went and purchased a PCMCIA card to give me PCI to Sata connectivity using VIA VT6421 chipset.
I installed PortIO successfully and JungleFlasher (JungleFlasher.0.1.67.Beta) as per vid.
Taken apart 360 and hooking up Sata cable from Liteon drive to PCMCIA card.
Using the 360 to power the drive, I open up jungleflasher and I get "no comports found during enumeration" and when I try to look for the lite-on drive under DVDKey32 tab, it doesn't appear.
Any idea where I'm going wrong here. I dont have a connectivity kit because from what I've read, I don't need one?
Maybe there are better instructions, software for flashing the jasper model?

thanks for link about pci-e comport but problem is that my express card slot is already taken up with the pcmcia card pci-to-sata so i dont know how i'll add this to my notebook set up.... :(
know doubt you have a liteon drive,,so i believe you need to have a serial ata plug for you to read the firmware,,and to use a laptop to flash,,havent heard anyone have any success,,

The laptop didnt have a SATA interface but I purchased a PCMCIA card which gives me the SATA interface using the VIA chipset.
My laptop indeed does not have a serial port so I'm guessing this would give me that instance of one which allows jungle flasher to map the liteon to the available com port?
I'd greatly appreciate the advice of one wiser than I.
In the meantime I shall sip my sherry, stroking my evil scabby cat awaiting the "wise one"'s advice. muhawhawhahw...
