I know that this has been asked and found it before, but now I am having trouble with it.

I download the 9199 update and put it on a USB, but am not able to get the update to go through. I insert the USB and then start up the system and it never runs the update. I remember hearing that this update would restore the HDD install functionality on banned systems.

I have tried doing it on CD and now USB and have not had any luck... Any help or other methods would be great.

Applying the 9199 update will restore the HDD functionality but will not fix the profile/game saves corruption.

To fix both, you would need to dump the NAND of the 360 and restore an old SecData.bin. Be aware if you update to the 9199 update, it will remove an old secdata.bin.
