I just got my Wii disc drive exchanged to D2C/D2E so I could use copied disc. I got my Wasabi DX installed; however copied disc's are only working when I burn from original disc... If I either download ISO or Scrubbed files from internet, Wii gives "Disc can not be read" error...
I did some searching... and this problem has something to do with 4.3U update that my Wii have (I guess...). And lot of people are saying that 4.1U update will works with any download game!?!?!
My 1st question... is this downgrade update possible? and if it is possible, where can I get more information for the Newbies like myself?
2nd question... Do I need any other software install? (such as Homebrew??? or other etc???)
Like my title said I'm REAL NEWBIE about Wii MOD... but I really wanna learn about it.
Please help me~~~ PLZ~~~
Lots of people trying to use modchips lately for some reason...
Anyway, if your modchip is properly installed then the games should be working. Firmware4.3 blocks playing out-of-region games, but any that match the region of your wii will still work.
If no backup games are working, then your chip is probably not installed correctly.
Downgrading is possible, but you'll need to fully softmod to do it. And downgrading is VERY risky and can brick the wii.
So if you're going to softmod anyway then you might as well just play your games through that, as it will bypass both whatever the issue with your modchip is as well as let you play games from any region on your wii without downgrading.
Are you downloading out-of-region games? If so, you may want to try downloading games in the same region as your originals.
I would not recommend downgrading, the risks are too great. If you're having trouble playing any backups then you can install softmods. Modchips should still work on 4.3 though, but they only load in region games.
