Hi guys, i've been lurking this forum ever since i managed to flash my xbox 360's samsung drive and i've got some questions on how to successfully burn an iso using imgburn. Yes, ive looked at every single tut thread you have but they have yet to answer a few questions.
Alrighty:

1. My Dvd Drive doesnt support booktype (so said DvDinfoPro) is this extremly bad?

2. Im assuming my drive CAN write at 2.4x but i have no idea (i cant seem find any other info) Ive also checked the "Capabilities" Option in Tools>Drive

3. What type of Verbatim DVD-R DL should i use? the 8x ok or..? (sorry im a moron when it comes to this)

Well thats it for now! Please help out this Noob

Im using my laptop to do all this
heres what im using if you want to know: http://us.toshiba.com/computers/laptops/satellite/A500/A505-S6975

just install imgburn set the drive speed to 2.4x choose the .dvd file and burn.

according to newegg your drive has a 6x max write speed for dl dvd+r but you shouldn't write them faster than 4x anyway.

you can run the iso through abgx360 to automatically create the .dvd file

or you can just make one, by making a new text file like this

LayerBreak=1913760
ISONAME.iso

'change ISONAME to the name of the .iso file and save

then rename the .txt file so that it has the same name as the .iso But with a .dvd extension.

your dvd's are fine you just cant burn em at 8x

you need the .dvd file to set the layerbreak you Also need the .iso file in the same folder

The .DVD file is NOT required to burn a game. the Layer break however IS!

Load the .ISO file and set the Layerbreak for the disk (can be found on google but here) L0 = 1913760 after that burn the game at the normal setting (should be 4x or 2.5x.

Also be 100% sure your using VERBATIM disks. If your not using Verbs i will no longer asist you in this

Mods are like games.....GO BIG OR GO HOME!!

8x is fine as is burning verbs at 8x,it's low cost crap discs that give issues not quality discs, however if your insecure about burning at rated speed slower is fine

I just burned Super Street Fighter 4 onto a Memorex DVD+r DL and it works great! dont see any problems except for teh minor lag(?)in the small cutscenes

Im getting more isos lol

also another question for you guys:

I want to play Red Dead Redemption (or any new games) i currently have ixtreme 1.5 Final on my 360 (and it def works) Do i need upgrade it if i cant play new games ive burned?

oh and i found this nifty program that apparently patchees your .iso 's so they work with 1.5 (the program is called "ppf-o-matic3") i have no idea if it actually did anything to teh iso since SSF4 is pretty old
