Hello, im on about to flash my drive. Could i hook it up to the computer without these 360 xtraxtor tools etc. and instead use the power from the xbox ?

Yes, you can use the 360 to power the drive, but not recommended by many. It's much easier to use the xtractor or CK3 connectivity kit due to the fact that you have to power off and back on quickly. You're best bet is to do as infam0us says, and read the stickies.

im pretty sure when they ban people they have far more solid evidence than the error created by powering a 360 without the drive. yes it documents an error but thats definitely not why they banned everybody last year.
