Sony has announced today that is slashing the price of the PSPgo handheld in the United States and in Japan.
The move comes as the holiday season approaches and on the heels of even more PSP 2 rumors.
Rival Nintendo is set to launch their highly-anticipated 3DS handheld before the summer of next year.

As long as every game they make also comes out to UMD, slashing the price was pointless. How about save on your bottom line and stop selling those models entirely.

It isn't his fault that sony removed the cell phone functionality from the thing and then charged twice what it was worth while refusing to provide support for UMD game transfers. Sony actually announced that the PSPgo was nothing but an experiment to see how much crap people would endure (or something like that)...ok, I think the experiment was actually, "Wouldn't it be funny if we made a download-only portable system with no 3G?"
