hello again friends i need to know what to convert my movies files 2 they r avi files i want to Convert the avi files so i can fit alot of movies on 1 dvd-r disc or dvd+r dl so what files should i Convert 2? so i can make more room on the disc btw i use Cloudy Video Converter to convert files plz help me out

Depends what you're doing, if just viewing on your pc, leave as avi and burn as data or if your DVD player is DIVX capable, it should play most. If converting to DVD compliant files is necessary, remember that the more bitrate you use the better the quality but the bigger the file, you may not want more than one movie on one DVD if quality is any issue and never heard of Cloudy.

my dvd player says it plays divx but 4 sum reason i dont think it can play avi\divx data dvds i always have to use dvd flick or ConvertXtoDVD 4 to play them a guy i know put a avi file to dvd and like i said my player says it can play it but it did not play the file why did not play? did my friend do sumthing wrong or do i have to do sumthing to my player?

Not much experience there but I think DIVX compatible won't play XVID unless it's DIVX certified and even that's not a sure thing but don't quote me on this. If you could see it on the pc, I doubt your friend did anything wrong. Is there a specific codec your player requires the avi to use, now I'm guessing though?

An AVI file should be less than 2GB.
The resolution should be no larger than 720x576
I find that most AVI files choke (tested on two brands of standalone player) if the audio is VBR (should be CBR).

You can see these settings using GSpot.

This example uses the XviD codec - some players won't accept it.
The resolution is less than 720x560 and the audio is CBR.
