Just to note, I have a BenQ drive with iXtreme 1.61 with the first leaked Kinect Dashbaord and works for me to play Fable 3. My console was banned in the last wave but yeah I can boot Fable 3 with no issue

True. I agree.

The problem though is that people will blame c4e, Team Jungle & Team Xecutor for their banishments, not realizing it is a chess match, where c4e and the Teams, take turns with Microsoft, making their moves AFTER analyzing what the other has done.

I have a question regarding splitvid. I've LT and fully verify all my games, making sure they're ssv2 and have splitvid. I understand if a wave 3,4,5 or 6 game is ripped with a drive without 0800 firmware, the iso will be ssv1 instead of ssv2 and it will have to be changed via ABGX. You said splitvid doesn't need to be applied if the game is ripped with a 0800 fw drive. Some of the isos I've downloaded were already ssv2 eg. Halo Reach and New Vegas, meaning they must have been ripped with 0800 drives. I applied splitvid to both of those games anyway. So was there a need to apply splitvid at all to those games? If your theory about splitvid is true, then those games would not boot if I updated to the next dash. I don't think I'll risk it though because I play most games offline anyway.

If the new dashboard does add new protection, M$ could easily put it on to every new game disc making it a mandatory update for the game to be bootable. This is what Sony are doing to battle the PSJailbreak. PS3 MOH came with a new update that removed the loop hole and the game wasn't playable unless the console was updated. If M$ can do that, it might be game over, both online and off.
well i think it is best to scan with abgx but the first scan you make should be done with autofix completely off. i do that cause i know a lot of people rip with o800 now and usually the rip is safe and doesn't need to be fixed. if the rip is bad then and only then do i turn autofix on.

like with the new star wars game i got it days before release and when i ran thru abgx (before it was verified)it reported ssv2 and splitvid. so i took the gamble that it was legit and i played early. now it is verified and i scan with autofix off and i can see that it is good and doesnt need any fix.
the same was true with halo reach. one of the first releases was a retial but when it was verified the set of ss files were not in the database even tho that rip was good retail copy. so i did not autofix it cause there can be more than one possible pressing of a disc due to region and other things that cause there to be more than one set of valid ssv2 files. so rahter than let abgx inject another set of ssv2 files i kept the ones i already had.

so run abgx first scan with autofixes turned off to see if it even needs them first. no need to fix it if it isnt broken right.

EDIT: also for patching in ssv2 files i use a program called mousepatcher. it is drag and drop the iso and if there is ssv2 in database for it then it will inject them. all in about 2 seconds too. and then i verify with abgx just to make sure it worked.

If you send me questions on Live about modding or anything related i will block you. Dont be an idiot.

looks like microsoft has implemented a new disk check (ssv3 maybe) and incorperated a check within the new dashboard stopping the new backups from booting

my question is can i buy kinnect and wave patch games like fable 3 to wave 3 for example to stop the checks and play on my (already) banned console while using kinnect ???? or will the xbox get dirty disk errors anyway ??

c4eva has saved me $$$$$$$ over the last 3 years, yeah i lost 1 console in the process which is now in the playroom hence the above question, but knowing that the kids can knock the xbox and my original disk wont be scratched to hell is great, just rip another copy on my sammy and give it to them.

I tried using my copy of Fable 3 and it worked fine for me, I currently have the leaked Kinetic dashboard and my drive is the one that never needed the activation disc to boot newer back ups and its ix 1.60. Oh and I use the same Gamertag on my banned and non banned console with no issues.

You must have been gone for about a decade! A JTAG console can play unsigned code (homebrew, emulators, etc.). You would probably be insta-banned now for playing on live with a JTAG. Most people here flash their DVD-ROM drives to play backups. The banhammer is going to be dropping soon, and it's advised to wait for the newest firmware (LT+) to be released to the public before you try playing backups, as the new AP 2.5 can detect most drives with modified firmware. There are people that are playing on live with flashed consoles as I type this, but as soon as the hammer hits, there will be about 90% less playing with a flashed console on live. Over 1 million consoles got banned last year, and it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't aim for 2 million this year.... If you flash your console, you'll eventually get banned if you connect to live.

After further testing, this happens when booting any game on an affected console, including originals. Also, if you create a new gamertag on the affected console after it was affected, it'll work just fine, but if you move that gamertag to another console it'll show as corrupt, whether you've booted any games or not.
Alright, well I booted up a Halo Reach backup on Kinect Dash and played online.
tried my HDD in 2 other consoles and it didnt show up as corrupt. Am I alright? or could I still be flagged and doomed?

The corruption only happens when booting any game after you've been flagged. As of now, Fable 3 is the only game known to get you instantly flagged, even if you're offline. Some of the Kinect games might also, but I don't know for certain.

You can use Xval 2.0 to see if you've been flagged, but it's unlikely that you have, unless you've played a backup of Fable 3, or you've been flagged over Live.

What if I run the backups on my offline flashed 360 that has the NXE dashboard, (gamertag is on usb drive), then just put the usb in my non-flashed online 360 and continue to play retail games....that gonna be an issue?

I have a banned 360 that has been banned for years.
I play my games offline on it obviously and dont update my gamertag, just have a local profile on the banned xbox.

If the I update the dash on the banned xbox will I be ok to play all of the games (ap2.5/wave 7) or does the ap 2.5 stop my console reading the disks?

I am hoping that this will not affect me as I never go online.

Thanks,

Stap

Unfortunately, the update still affects offline users as well. So AP 2.5 (wave 7) games will not boot on the kinect dashboard, online or off - remember this is only known for sure as Fable III and some kinect titles; all non-ap2.5 games will boot on the new dash.

This is a bit misleading because you put "wave 7" in brackets, implying that wave 7 games have AP2.5. Fable 3 is wave 6 and that's AP2.5 protected. Hasbro Family Game Night 3 is wave 7 and that's not AP2.5 protected. The Kinect games are wave 8 and 9. Basically, the wave doesn't have anything to do with it really. There's currently no way to test for AP2.5 other than booting a game on the Kinect dash, which of course will flag the console if it is protected.

ok, so if I dont update to the new dash then, can I play all titles?

I have played Fable 3 and The Sims 3 already which are ap 2.5 with no problem.

However the kinect games (particularly kinect sports), which i presume only work on the new dash, will not work without an update from the disk being applied (I have been as far as the game saying it wants to update and then I thought I would ask before doing it).

Is this assumption correct. Thanks for the previous replies and future too :),

correct, don't update to new dash unless you bought the kinect.

Thank you.

One more question,

Will the new games eventually force me to perform the update?

If so will I have to do a firmware update then?
