My dvd drive stopped ejecting, you could here it trying to, but wouldnt. It is an Ben Q drive that i flashed to play back-Ups. I ordered a replacment drive and switch the boards in them. The new drive worked fine for a day and now its starting to have trouble with ejecting. Could it be the board thats the problem? If so, can i just get the key from the old one using DOS flash(sames steps i took in flashing it the first time) and put it on the new drive, Will that carry the firm ware over to? or do i have to install the key and reflash? i have the original key so should i just flash that key onto it and start the whole flashing process as if its never been done before?
Not sure why you would switch boards to begin with. It's easier to spoof. The bad eject is 99.9% of the time a bad belt. Take the belt off, put it in HOT water. I boil mine in the microwave.(with the belt not in it of course) Let it sit for 10 minutes or so. Take it out and let it dry. This will shrink and tighten the belt. Reinstall.

Belt sounds like it could be the problem, but this is the Brand new drive thats screwing up, i just opened it from the package and has been plugged in for not even 2 days, could a belt go that fast? It was probly the problem with the original drive thats liek 4 years old, but this was a brand new drive

Sorry bu ti forgot to describe it more, when i first replaced the drive, it would open half way real fast, then slow the rest of the way, after 5 times of opening it, now its real slow all the way and sometimes it tries to retract it before its even fully open
