I have been reading and reading on this message board, and either the answer hasn't been given, or I just don't understand the information well, so I thought I would ask here.
I updated my console to the Kinectdashboard, it has the 1.6LT firmware on it, done by another person because I am clueless on these things.
I tried a backup of Fable 3, it doesn't work, gives me the "cannot read disc" error.
Now from what I'm reading, it's because Fable 3 has the new dashboard on it, and something is going on to where it knows that my console isn't your average everyday console.
I used the wave patcher to patch it to wave 3 previously, and it worked fine until the update.
Does this mean that pretty much starting now, the new games that come out are going to be incompatible with my 360 until a new firmware comes out to flash the drive? Is there a workaround for this being made, like a new 360 waves patcher?
That's basically it, banned console, game doesn't work, concerned about the future. I apologize if this has been answered and I take full responsibility if it has for not being able to find it.
Having said all that, nothing has been corrupted on my profile that I can see.
Fable 3 has a protection on it called ap2.5, it doesn't contain the dash.
The new kinect dash apparently detects this ap2.5 protection.
Some Samsung, and maybe Hitachi drives don't support ap2.5 and appear immune at present.
New games may have the same protection, and you might not be able to play them. But...
There is supposed to be a new firmware being developed that will make the ap2.5 none of our concern.
I've been offline for the last week and will stay off until more is known. I won't play any games that are supposed to have ap2.5 either, just in case.
I'm even hesitant to play Force Unleashed 2 and 007: Bloodstone since they're very recent releases, and even though they are supposed to work on the new dash (suggesting they don't have ap2.5), I'm concerned they may still have it.
Hopefully the new FW will arrive before games come out that force the new dash, and we can play offline in the meantime, which should be fine even with games that have the new protection - as long as the kinect dash is needed to detect it.
Originally posted by Modking30: C4 is working on testing other games. So far Fable 3 is the only one reported with the ap protection. Why are you noobs even updating?
cause its not the end of the world if i get banned and i have more boxes. plus i was on the previous fw before LT was released on my current box. but xval says im clean. i dont know if i trust that thing tho. if ms knows we use it cant they somehow rig it to give false info?
