I heard there's a real cool dash update My 360 hasn't been updated in months so I really don't know if its safe to update.. I have ixtreme 1.6.

You probably have a 99.99% chance of getting banned with ix 1.6. There are ways to do it without updating through the 360. I suggest going that route.
