I was wondering i seen that ps3 handles a 1tb hdd and have read that it only takes laptop hdd 2.5 inches wide by 9.5mm high, but the tb laptop drives are 12.5 mm high so how can it handle it internally without having it outside the ps3 hdd bay.

You have to trim the plastic in order to get the thing in. The 750GB laptop drives are thin enough to go in without modifications. Not sure if you can trim the plastic on the slim models...

i have the old fat ps3 model also i read that some hdd have the advanced format and may lag ps3 gaming a bit

Only 2TB+ drives have advanced format; these are all too large to fit into a PS3 (even with trimming) at the current time. The references to laggy gaming come from people using them as external drives.

this is the drive that i been looking at

but the following one looks like the one ill end up getting as it has good reviews with ps3

That drive is a great unit...it is a bit pricey per GB for my taste, but it is the best drive that fill fit inside of a PS3 without any cutting.
