So now everytime i let it sit it turns on to rrod but then after i turn it off then back on it works fine for hours. Any suggestions?

You still have broken solder then and it's likely that eventually the red ring will stay. Try using some kester 951 liquid flux and heatgunning again

Yes, heatgunning it many times can decrease the lifespan. If you think you're reaching that point, perhaps consider having it professionally fixed. If not, maybe you should try again and this time make sure your x-clamp repair is fitting properly and perhaps consider doing a 12v fan mod.

Personally I've had mixed results with the fan mod...a few systems it seemed to increase vibration quite a bit and resulted in the error coming back fairly early. Other systems almost burned me when I touched the heatsinks but didn't have any added vibration since the fan mod and have been going strong since.

Sometimes it can be a trial and error type thing but in my experience when you get it right it stays fixed.
