Im currently have been thinking of getting a Xbox 360 Slim but i have been putting off the idea of getting it becuase no ixtreme has come out for it. When its released in the future do you think that team xecuter will develop it so that you need a CK3 chip to flash the dvd drive. Because i really dont want to go order a chip which i will be only using once.

P.S: Has there ever been a softmod method where you can play backups without ever opening the xbox 360

You have to power your drive somehow. You need to either use your 360 to power your drive (not recommended), or use a CK3 or Maximus Connectivity Kit. To my knowledge, there has never been a softmod method to where you could play backups without opening up your 360. I think even the old king kong exploit only allowed you to run xell. That was over 3 years ago and was patched quickly. It's hard to tell when LT+ will be released for the XBOX S. I've seen logs saying sometime next year. It could be half way through the year though... Who knows?

but how does the DOSFlash method work then? isnt there a method that you connect your 360 drive to PC with a SATA cable and use DOSFlash?

Not trying to sound like a jerk or anything, but b1gh3ad your perspective is wrong. It doesn't matter if the connectivity kit is bought for a one-time use. It, plus a Sata VIA 6421 card cost no more than the price of a single game. What more can you ask for? And it's not up to Xecuter to see to it that the drive works with literally hundreds (if not thousands) of different PC configurations. They didn't make the drive, and the drive isn't even a Windows product, so we're actually lucky there is a bridge (Sata VIA 6421) to link the two. They just provide an easier means to connect to it.

No. There is not any soft modding of the 360 that you can do without opening the console. Don't hold your breath, because I seriously doubt there ever will be a softmod. I, for one, am glad there is no softmod. There would ten times as many people "modding". Every single update would kill the softmod, and this board would be bombarded with threads like "WTF My Softmod Doesn't Work Anymore".

Yes. But the real issue is your PC. Will your PC's Sata chipset be able to recognize the drive? If not, then that is the reason the "Sata VIA 6421" card is recommended. It will definitely recognize the 360 drive.

Do most SATA chipsets read the drive or is the VIA 6421 chipset the only one that does? Because i have a seperate Gigabyte SATA addon chip connect to the PCI expansion slot(for my IDE motherboard) so will that work with it?
