OK I am new to the XBox 360. Me and a friend both have a xbox 360 elite. His has been softmoded and mine is still new in the box, but looking at getting it soft modded next weekend. Neither one has been updated or on the internet. They will both be used for off line play.
1. Should I leave them the way that they are or update them?
2. can I upgrade the new one and then mod it?
3. can we play the new games or Kinect games without screwing up our xboxes?
Like I said we are new to this. I have tried to search for these answers and I have read a lot of post. And I have gotten more confused.
since your drive most likely needs trace cuts to modify it, i would wait until the new firmware comes out, modifying it twice would get costly.if you decide to do it, i would not update them, i have not had any problems playing all the games so far but mine has the old dashboard, so speaking from personal experience do not update, the 3 question i'm not sure how to answer, i really do not think your box will get flagged if you do not update your dash, but not sure about that one. if you happen to have a samsung drive in your xbox that it is supposed to be safe, but i have not seen many elites with samsung drives, especially new ones.
i need to update to new dash to play kinect games right? i haven't updated because i want to play fable 3 but i also want to play kinect stuff soon. will kinect games work on a modded system?
