Hi All I bought my mates old Xbox 360 Elite and an Xbox hard drive data transfer cable. I backed up my old Xbox 360 60GB hard drive and restored the data to the 120GB Elite Hard Drive. But now the Xbox won't recognised the hard drive! What have I done. :( All I wanted to do is transfer everything off my old hard drive to my new one. :(

Ok I have sorted the Elite Hard drive, it was missing its own Security file. But now the 60GB is not recognised as an xbox hard drive but does show on my pc as another drive. How do I turn it back into an Xbox hard drive? I think the partitions are gone so the xport software won't recognise it so I can't restore my xbox data back!

Any ideas?

google HDDHackr this will format your drive to 360 format with all the partitions but you will need a security file for it

please if your asking about xbox 360 firmware, LT+, how to cut and solder, what drive you have and such check this PDF file

Hate to say it but I hate that Xbox360 transfer cable......easy way around it......go get a 2-3Gb flash card and transfer all your saves to that card and then load the new 360 up next time......much easier and less of a headache.....otherwise use the app suggested to rebuild the HDD.
