I have the 6-8 ft but what about if a couch is behind me? Will that mess anything up?
sum1 already had stevedawg and stevedawg85 is longer than 10 chars :(

I've got 8 feet with a couch behind me and it works just fine. I'm sure it varies for each person, but from my experience I haven't had a problem with the couch behind me. I did have to move the coffee table out of the way though :)

About that coffee table, can I move it in front of the tv and have the sensor on top of the tv? the coffee table probably two feet wide and hoping if it's directly in front of the tv, the sensor won't see it

I recommend not buying Kinect at all. For 150 bucks, you could get a PS3, hell even a hooker. It only works with casual games and Dance Central seems to be the only one that is getting good reviews. If you're into hardcore games and like value for money, don't buy it. If you like jumping around the room looking like a fool and the thoughts of burning money amuses you, then by all means, go get one now!

lol... thanks for the info, but not helpful.
If i asked should I get a kinect, that would be useful. honestly, i'd rather get a wii. but the kinect is for the kids and wondering about furniture.

Also the kinect can spy{record audio/video} on you and send info back to microsoft. Just waiting for the government to start using this!!!!!!!!

then it shouldnt work then. But if you go on live they probably will be spying, For advertisement purposes only. Yeah right.
