I have a 320 GBps3. In system settings -> system information it says 298 GB.
After deleting everything (game installs, backup managers, saves, comgenie etc.) what I get is: free space 263 gb / 298 gb.
Is the basic ps3 functions 30 gb of space? I was up to do a full format to check it but it said it needs about 18 hours... so I decided to ask your opinion first. I am trying to remember the free space ps3 had when I first turned it on but I can't recall it...
The PS3 isn't very good about cleaning after itself. Games never fully uninstall, temp files pile up, it is a mess. To give you an idea of how well sony manages their console, the format utility can't even remove users accounts. It sounds like you are jailbroken; you can use a file manager to see the mess sony has left on your hard drive.

Thanx for your reply... Do you suggest a full format once in a while? Are there any side effects for jailbroken ps3s after a full format?
