This a concern I have since the new Dashboard came out and activated the 2.5 protection. Assassins Creed Brotherhood forces the user to update the dashboard to the newest version before playing.

-I have either a Benq or a Lite-On DVD Drive on my Xbox 360. The firmware it has I think is 1.6 ( I can actually play any game, and I was also able to both boot Wave4+ games with Activation Iso and Patch the wave down to avoid the booting process successfully).

-I was banned about a year ago and never bothered to download any update again ( I just updated manually so I could get the HDrive install option back)

-I don't really care about going online anymore

-Will trying to play Fable III / Assassins Creed Brotherhood brick my Xbox forever to play any offline backups? Again I don't care about offline

Thanks for the info!

I don't know about Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood or Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit (2 other games that have AP2.5), but a backup of Fable 3 will not boot on the Kinect dashboard. If you try and boot it, you'll get a "this disc is unreadable" error and the following happens: -

1. Your console gets flagged for failing the AP25 challenge.
2. Any gamertag used on the flagged console will show up as corrupt on any other console.

So the answer to your question is no, it will not brick your console to stop you playing "any" backups. That said, I would imagine that LT+ will be out within the next month or so as c4e said it should be out before Christmas and that should take care of AP2.5, so I wouldn't advise trying to boot any AP2.5 protected game until you can update to LT+. There's no point flagging your console just for the sake of it, when the AP2.5 games won't boot anyway.

he said he is already banned so i dont think he os concerned with being flagged or not. i think he is concerned about losing functionality or things like hdd installs and other features. to be honest i do nt know if you will lose any of those for sure but based on previous updates and losing hdd install feature i would say it is highly likely.

If it were me i would wait for LT+

If you send me questions on Live about modding or anything related i will block you. Dont be an idiot.
