Hopefully someone here can supply me a few answers, did the research but can't find a couple of things.

I have a Jtag running XBR. I have had no problems at all with any games, including Fable 3. I wondered about updating to the new Freeboot, but I don't really see any point.

What difference is there between it and what I'm running now, aside from the latest dash? Does it really matter? Or will I, at some point, have to update because future games will cease working? I think the VERY latest version supports Kinect, but I'm not sure I really care right now. I'm more worried about popping in some disk and finding out I can't play it until I update.

Also... I have little to no experience doing this, but am quite capable of following tutorials. Is there a chance I brick my xbox while updating? How easy a process is it to follow? If I somehow mess it up am I able to reverse the process back to what I've got right now?

you will eventually need to update as games will start needing th newer kernel to launch, however upgrading is easy with this app called Easy Freeboot. All you need is a copy of your nand and your cpu key and it does everything else automatically. rename the image it makes to updflash.bin and use flash360 or XeLL to to flash from a USB thumb drive. The app and a short tut are available HERE
