I have been FTP to my ps3 with no problems then I tried installing flex manager because of the nice GUI. I did not like it and it started changing my game directory. I uninstalled it and it seemed my open manager or gaia manager could only find a few games. I searched and could not find the missing games,so I simply formated the drive and started over.
Now the FTP is taking hours and hours to transfer, coming up with messages i never saw before like "opening binary connection" for a while when before it just zipped through. It also comes up asking to overwrite files, which leads me to believe the format was not that good. Any ideas??
I backed up my save data, then I just reinstalled my managers and ftp apps afterwards. ;I did do the quick format though, is there a major reason I should do the full format?
Firstly before you delete any of your managers hit the triangle button and go to information and see how big the file is, if its in GB's then you are deleting your games as well. I made this mistake by deleting a Spanish version of open manager and I lost all my games. Secondly is your PS3 on a wired connection or wifi? Thirdly I get the asking to overwrite files all the time, it's just a glitch in the FTP, just select overwrite and apply to all. What PS3 FTP are you using?

Thanks so much! This is exactly what I did and it screwed up everything. I tried to delete the manager and it was taking forever, I knew that little app should not take but a second to delete. I also found it odd that my games were gone looking through the hard drive. But that is exactly what I did.
I am using a wired connection. Ok good to know its just a glitch, I thought the ps3 format was not quite getting the job done.
Im using a trial version of flashfxp on my pc, and the ps3 ftp blackbox v1.2, I think on the ps3.
Before I made this mistake, it was transferring games in like 30 mins or so, but now it is taking forever, so I left it on overnight, woke up and it had stopped due to the overwrite popup, so I told it to overwrite everything and left it running. Hopefully I have a successful transfer when I return. Any more ideas?
Wow, I feel really dumb. Found out the problem of the slow transfer. Once I restored HD it restored my wireless connection. Although I have been using wired for a while now. That had crossed my mind, but I thought I would need router password, apparently it saved that too. Thanks for the help
