OnLive, the cloud streaming games service, has announced today the launch of the MicroConsole instant-play system, with pre-orders starting now for a December 2nd release.
Users can play video games from the OnLive catalog, on their TVs, using the set-top, eliminating the need for downloads or discs.
The system will sell for $99 and include a wireless controller and a free game.

Try it... I haven't purchased anything but just tried it, you can try it out for free (virtually all the games have free trials). You don't need a credit card, in fact just choose a username and password... the app to install was less that 1MB. It seemed really smooth. I doubt you'll think its PS3/XBOX quality but pretty darn good. Its amazing being able to play games on a laptop no where close to being powerful enough to run those games usually. Its a cool sign of things to come. They have a few cool games but if they could get Call of Duty games and other big big games it'll really boom (or crash under the demand).

Since they changed to a no subscription setup I think they are starting to head in the right direction, you'll need a good connection for it but it has plenty of possibilities.
