Hey I'm a new user, so not sure if this has been answered before...

I recently bought a 1TB WD Passport and partitioned it so I can play Wii and (HOPEFULLY) PS3 backups. Right now I have the PS3 partition in NTFS - which I've heard does not work on PS3.

If I change the partition to FAT32, will I be able to load games larger than the 4GB cap and play them on my PS3? And if so, how?
(Will I need to make games into smaller parts? I don't know how to do this either..)

Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks in advance =)

There are files >4gb in the game which cannot be transfered into a FAT32 hard drive. What u have to do now is to split those files into smaller parts in order to transfer.

You can use apps like safeimg 0.1.1, if it detects files that cant go into FAT32 hard drive, it will split them automatically.

Take note that safeimg will split and overwrite the current >4gb files. So u may want to back up the original >4gb file

How to use safeimg?
1) go to optimizer tab
2) check split > 4 Gb to obm install FMT
3) open RLS folder (eg.BLJS100**)

After that just copy the game folder (eg.BLJS100**) to ur external hard drive eg. (H:\GAMEZ)

There is another software called PS3Splitter .

Hey thanks for the response!

Another issue I'm running into is that FAT32 cannot create files larger than 32gb, and I have a 1TB HD.
Would I need to create separate partitions for each game?

I'm using a Mac, btw - not sure if this matters
