I can't get my PC to read the drive. Do I need those Port IO drivers installed? I have Win 7 32-Bit. I currnely have two other DVD drives connected to SATA and then a SATA cable to the drive and power the drive from the xbox. It'll pick up my Kreon drive.

PortIO should be installed automatically with the newer versions of JF. Since you have onboard sata I don't know if you should simply disable the drivers in device manager or if you should disable the driver, figure out what .sys file is for your sata adapter in c:\windows\system32\drivers and rename it, then re-enable again (which is what you do with the VIA 6421 PCI card)

are you running JF in administrator mode? Might want to try XP and/or a VIA 6421 card

I give up. It just won't pick it up. If the drive is connected during boot it won't go past the login screen. JF won't open if the drive is connected. But the drive works so I don't understand what is wrong. Frustrated so giving up for the night

If it wont go past the login screen or JF wont open with the drive connected it sounds to me there's a driver issue, maybe a conflict between the stock driver and portIO, or perhaps PortIO is having a hard time using your sata card. You could always give iPrep/dosflash a try

That or maybe I should buy a sata card or wait for that maximus thing to release that connects to usb port. If I have to wait for the new year for it that won't be so bad

well dosflash is the free option between the 3...it can seem intimidating at first but actually with iPrep making you a bootable USB drive it's actually probably easier than using jungleflasher. But i'm with you, totally getting one of those USB flashers when they come out

The other thing I was thinking about is I have a Sony drive thats connected via SATA. Should I try disconnecting that? Whats odd is that the only drive it could out of all the I/O was my Kreon drive which is connected via IDE.

To let you know, I am running Win 7 Ultimate 32 bit with ASUS P5N-D motherboard. I thought I could also try updating the chipset drivers, maybe that will help? First I am going to try disconnecting my Sony SATA drive and if that doesn't work i'll re-installed Win 7 with a dual boot to XP.

EDIT: I looked on the ASUS site and they do have some chipset and SATA drivers. Now that I have had time to think, Jungleflasher wouldn't even pick up my Sony SATA drive but would pick up the IDE Kreon drive. So I am going to update the chipset and SATA drivers tonight and i'll let you know how that goes. If it doesn't work I am going to install XP 32-bit for this and Win 7 64-bit for regular use.

Also, does it have to be connected to the first SATA port? Cause I currently have my HDD in that port

I don't think so but it'd be worth a shot to temporarily disconnect any sata drives that aren't necessary. Also you don't have to wipe 7 to install a dual boot with xp, just put xp in a different directory and it should automatically detect 7 and setup dual boot

Should the BenQ drive be connected to SATA1? Currently its on SATA2 and my HDD is on SATA1, then the Sony is on SATA3.

Okay so I got everything working. But one thing that happened is I was powering the drive via the xbox 360 and it turned off twice, one when doing intro / device id and then again when i was going to write and tried it again and worked. It was just wierd that the console turned off
