I have my Wii setup using Configurable USB loader with about 20 games on it. Just got Black Ops working.

My 750GB External Drive is a little overkill, so I want to use a 320GB Drive that I have. Can I just hook the two drives to my PC and copy everything over to the 320GB drive, or do I have to set it all up again on the new drive and load all the games with backup manager?

Depends what type of format your using.

If your using a WBFS format then yes you will need to use a WBFS manager to transfer the games from 1 drive to another.

If your using a FAT32/NTFS file system then all you have to do is drag the files to the new HDD.

Thanks for the reply. It's Fat32 so I'll try drag and drop.

NO DRAG AND DROP MATE LMAO!!!
What the other guy forgot to mention and you might know as well is that if you use WBFS manager and have formatted it to be used with WBFS, then everytime you plug in your HDD your computer will not be able to recognise the drive and it will ask you to format it.
SO YOU CAN`T DO DRAG AND DROP!!!
YES if you are using WBFS Manager to install your ISO Wii games then you can do a CLONE of your Hardrive and copy it to another Hardrive.
When you open WBFS manager there is a clone button you can press to do it atomatically.

@Vato

LMAO back at U!

You can drag and drop the files if your using FAT32/NTFS formatted drives. If you read my post you would see that I said if you have it formatted WBFS then yes you need to use WBFS manager. If it is formatted fat32/NTFS then he can drag and drop them.

He then said he had it formatted FAT32 so yes he can drag and drop the games to the new drive.

NO LOL @ YOU!!!
I was talking about if he formatted it as a WBFS HDD LOL
Of course you can drag and drop on FAT32 and NTSC Fomatted HHD`s.... anyone with a brain knows that....

Plus the Drag and Drop LOL was not mean at YOU was meant at him because he oviously has his HDD formated by the WBFS Manager or else how is he going to be able to put Games into it .... now this LOL is @ YOU ^ ^

Why does he obviously have it formatted as WBFS?

Maybe you should do a little more homework so you don't make yourself out to be such a dumbass.

You can set up the USB HDD as FAT32 or NTFS and still play games off it. All you do is convert the ISO file to a WBFS file and the game can be dragged and dropped onto a FAT32/NTFS formatted drive (without using WBFS Manager or using a WBFS partitioned USB HDD).

Heck I am almost positive if you have it formated NTFS you can just drag and drop the ISO file onto the USB HDD (without even converting it to a wbfs file).

But in any case you don't necessarily have to use WBFS Manager and have the HDD formatted to WBFS to play Wii games off it.

clearly you didn't look at the third post, which states the drive is FAT32. so drag and drop CAN work, provided it's copied the exact way.

and you haven't obviously kept up with the latest. FAT32 and NTFS can be used now. i choose WBFS because it's been working for me from the beginning with no problems, so why change? convience? who cares. that allows others to easily take the games.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

You really don`t get what I am saying do you?!?!
ok I will explain to you in the most simple way possible.....

If he formatted his HDD via the WBSF then everytime he connect his HDD again to his computer it will not recognise his HDD and ask him if he wants to format it. You can just click no and it will work normally when you open WBSF again.
DO you understand NOW>!?!?! This is what I was meaning.... and oviously he has it formatted like that or else how would he be able to play his games on his HDD via USB Loader GX. (Windows will always tell you it needs to be formatted because it does not recognized the wbfs format).
so AGAIN I ask you.... DO you understand what I am saying or do I need to re-explain it to you LOL.

SO he can`t oviously drag and drop lol as windows does not recognise his HDD ^ ^

WRONG! look at all the loaders now; configurable, gx, wiiflow. THEY SUPPORT FAT32, NTFS, ON TOP OF WBFS. WHAT PART DON'T YOU GET?!

i know about WBFS, BECAUSE I USE IT. I KNOW WHAT WINDOWS DOES WHEN YOU PLUG IT IN. THAT'S WHAT WBFS MANAGER IS FOR.

and look at what gullzway said IN THE THIRD POST.

THEREFORE, his loader is already running IOS222, which is FAT32 loading.

I know what you are saying, you pretty much repeated what I said in my first post. If the USB HDD is WBFS formatted then you need to transfer them via a WBFS Manager.

Your just not comprehending what I am saying.

When did he say he formatted the drive WBFS? He said he set it up using Backup Manager. There are multiple ways to play backups via a USB HDD. A WBFS formatted USB HDD is not the only way.

Quote:

When did he say he used USB Loader GX? (he said he used Configurable USB loader)

As for how he will be able to play his games without a WBFS formatted drive, I will try to explain it to you again.

Backup Manager can convert ISO files to WBFS files (this is diffrent then transferring them to a WBFS formatted USB HDD).

After the ISO is converted to the WBFS file you can drag and drop it onto a FAT32/NTFS formatted USB HDD (it does not have to be formatted WBFS).

Configurable USB loader can then read the WBFS file that is on the FAT32/NTFS formated drive and load the game.

Your the one that replied with LMAO and acting like it was dumb to think anyone could drag and drop the files. The fact is it can be done, even if you still don't comprehend it or not.
