Well, the guy who was fixing my 360 just called and said he tried twice to fix it (reflow/reball and RAM fixing) to no avail. So my original, first batch, 360 is dead :( It was still on the original dashboard, what a shame!

So anyway, I'm buying a new one. I want to make sure it's flashable though. Are all xbox flashable now? Basically, the only thing I'm interested in is playing backups. No JTAG. Are all slims flashable to?
If not, is there a way to make sure before opening the box?

Also, I might end up buying the x360usb. Is there a way to know my console is compatible with x360usb before opening the box?

Thanks!

Thanks for the info.
I'm thinking it might be better getting a fat xbox360 and buying the kinect as a standalone.
The guy who tried to repair my xbox just called me telling me he would offer me 20$ for my x360 that's not working. Am I right thinking that people buy it for around 50$ on the net?

Hmmmm..... now I'm thinking that the guy actually CAN fix your bow with a reflow, and that he's offering you $20 for it so that he can fix it and JTAG it. He'd stand to make a bit more $$$$ for a JTAG'd box. Just a thought.

Exactly. I think $20 is a good deal for parts. The only thing worth money is the drive IF it's a benq or liteon. $50 is insane and only a moron would pay that for an old broken xbox.

Thanks for your info guys.
The guy proposed to me to take my Xbox360 for 20$ or he can take it and exchange it +$$$ against the following:

Option 1: Price: 200$
Xenon 2005-10-11
JTAGED
Flashed with xtreme LT (not LT+)
Modified fan
Added intercooler

Option 2: Price: 200$
Xenon 2006-08-22
JTAGED
Not flashed with LT (not sure if it's flashed at all and if it matters because it's JTAGED?)
Modified fan
Added intercooler

Option 3: Price 260$
Falcon 2007-12-15
JTAGED
Not flashed with LT (not sure if it's flashed at all and if it matters because it's JTAGED?)
Modified fan
Added intercooler

Prices are for the consoles only, nothing with it.
What do you think? I'm usually not really cool buying a used Xbox as chances are it'll die sooner then later. Is this worth it? Are these prices logical? The fact that the boxes are JTAGED, is this really worth my dollars?
I want to eventually play Kinect games. All of these consoles will allow it?

Cheers,

Guys need your help.

I finally purchased a brand new JTAGed Falcon x360 with a 60GB hdd. Got it for 250$(did I overpaid?).

I need your help to know what to do next. I'm picking it up tomorrow PM and here what is on it.

-The xbox was never used other the for the jtag
- no fans mod (12v or other) was done because the guy told me that with freestyle dash set to 70% intensity, I won't need it as the console runs at 65/70 degrees. He says the 12v fan mod makes a lot of noise but he is willing to do it for free if I want to
- he will give me a copy of the original nand, a copy of the freeboot Kinect nand, original fw and CPU key.
- the drive is a lite on 74 and he flashed it with LT+
- he also flashed the nand so that it bypasses any a p25 check
- xexmenu and freestyle dash are installed and the latest freeboot kinect is flashed on the nand
- he also told me the avatar update is done

So am i setup to play my baCkups from an external hdd.
I have no clue what all I wrote above mean. I'm learning slowly but right now, I'm overwhelmed.
What's next? Do I need to install anything? Verify anything?

Am I good to log on xbl or it's a no no?
What homebrew should I install?
