My PS3 will not turn on

When the ps3 is plugged in, the red standby light will come on. When I press the power button, the ps3 beeps and the light turns green then it cuts off. No blue or yellow lights, just green, then turns off. Then it will not do anything, No red standby light or anything. I have to unplug it for a few minutes and plug it back up to get the standby light to come back on. Could this be a bad power supply? I dont think its YLOD but not sure. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

If you have to wait more than a few seconds between unplugging and replugging to get the red LED to come on, then the PSU is suspect. If you have a spare ATX power supply with enough wattage, you can test the system with that before dropping the cash for a new PS3 power supply.
